a new reality that was not previously there. The one transcendent God of the Old Testament uncovers his inmost life; he shows that he is in himself a dialogue of eternal love. Because he is in himself relationship—word and love—that is why he can speak, feel, respond, and love. Because he is relationship, he is able to open himself up and establish a relationship of his creature to himself. In the Incarnation of the eternal Word, there comes about that communion between God and the being of man,
